Registration

Becoming a registered student group with Morningside Student Government (MSG) comes with numerous privileges, including the ability to host events on campus, advertise, and request allocations. All students interested in forming a group should complete the registration form found above. This form may be filled out at any point throughout the year time of the year.​

 

Once you have submitted your registration form, the Student Life Committee will review your request. This committee will assess your application for compliance with MSG guidelines. If your registration request is denied, you will be promptly notified of their objections and reasons for denial. If your registration request is approvede, you will move on to the next step. At least one member from your proposed student group will need to present the request to the Student Senate. This presentation is an opportunity to showcase your organization's mission and goals. Group registration requests require a simple majority vote of approval from the Student Senate to be officially registered.

 

Student groups that were registered in the previous academic year will not be required to present to the Student Senate if they fill out the required group registration form by the deadline set by the Director of Communications. However, it is essential to ensure that all registration information is up-to-date.
